Règlement
Distance: 800 meters
Inclination: 45°
Terrain: NATURAL , but must maintain a consistent slop
1- Course Specifications
- Distance Measurement:
- The full 800 m must be measured along the incline, not horizontal projection.
- Incline Consistency: Slope up to target of 45°.
- Surface Type: Snow & Mud | non-slip and safe under expected weather conditions.
- Lanes: 1 lane - 6 meters width
- Markings: Clear markers every 50 meters | Start and finish visible, marked and stable
2. Athlete Eligibility
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Categories: VALHALA Challenge | Age Categories: 16–29 VEGVISIR | 30–39 VALKNUT | 40–49 GUNGNIR | 50+ FENRIR
- Athletes must sign a risk acknowledgment waiver due to the extreme incline
3. Equipment and Attire
- Footwear: Trail-running shoes or spikes | Shoes must not provide mechanical propulsion (no carbon-plate spring devices unless approved).
- Clothing: Lightweight, form-fitting athletic apparel | No loose clothing that could restrict movement.
- Optional Safety Gear: Knee and elbow protection | Gloves for scrambling sections if the terrain requires.
- Prohibited: Poles, grappling aids, or any mechanical assistance
4. Start Procedure
All runners start from a standing start (no crouched starting blocks due to steep incline) | A starter will use the standard commands: On your marks” → “Set” → starting signal | False starts follow track rules: One false start per athlete = disqualification.
5. Race Conduct
- Athletes must remain on the designated course at all times.
- Lane infringements: Stepping outside a lane and impeding another athlete results in disqualification.
Assisting/being assisted: is not allowed | If an athlete falls, they may continue unless they leave the course boundary.
6. Safety Rules
Given the extreme incline:
- Mandatory medical presence at start, mid-course and finish.
- Stopping the race:
- Officials may stop or delay the event for strong winds, heavy rain, or slippery conditions.
- Emergency Exit Points:
- Course must have pre-marked rapid-evacuation paths for medical teams.
- Use of ropes or rails along the side is allowed for safety, but athletes may not use them for propulsion.
7. Timing and Results
- Timing must be manually, with a start timer and finish timing team.
- Results are final once confirmed by the chief judge with each round
- Disqualification Criteria
- Use of prohibited equipment
- Impeding other competitors
- Leaving the course
- Receiving unauthorized aid
- Unsporting behavior
- Ignoring medical officials’ orders or ushers to stop
- Awards
- First Male & Female from each category will claim the title if King & Queen of Hilll!
- All Participants will get a medal | Winners will get Trophees & Money Prizes + Gifts
